HELPFUL TIP:

Emotional wounds will steer a character's behavior, corrupt his worldview, and cause negative traits to form. To understand exactly how this occurs, please read our tutorial for the Wound Thesaurus.

NOTE: We realize that sometimes a wound we profile may have personal meaning, stirring up the past for some of our readers. It is not our intent to create emotional turmoil. Please know that we research each wounding topic carefully to treat it with the utmost respect.
NOTES:
Getting lost for a short time can be frightening, but it doesn't usually have long-lasting effects. Being lost and alone for an extended period of time, though, can alter a person's psyche in many ways. For that reason, this entry will focus on scenarios in which the character was lost and on their own for a long time.

EXAMPLES:
Getting lost in the woods
Being lost in the mountains
Getting lost in a desert
Losing one's way while hiking or camping
Being adrift on the ocean
