HELPFUL TIP:

Settings should always be chosen with care. Consider the emotion you want your viewpoint character to feel and how setting choices, weather elements, and symbolism might build a specific mood in the scene, create tension and conflict, or even raise the stakes.
SIGHTS:
Fields of green leafy vines tethered to wire and posts
Brown earth that's hard-packed into a track between rows
Workers with wide-brimmed hats (spraying, watering, inspecting, trimming, harvesting)
A tree-lined road through the fields leading to the winery's main building
A well-tended garden area (with water features, topiary and flowering plants, statues and iron gates, stonework walkways)
Décor that suits the region
Fresh-mown grass
Mirror-bright windows
A patio area outside the winery's restaurant or bistro
The winery's name and logo embossed on a sign near the entrance
Doors leading inside to a reception area
Artwork and décor that features oak barrels, corks, glassware and wine bottles
A black chalkboard announcing house brands and wine tasting times
Floor-to-ceiling wine racks
A sampling area (a glossy wooden bar with wine bottles, glasses, an ice bucket and water decanter)
Guests swirling wine as an employee describes the ingredients and distilling process
The wine cellar or vault (long rows of stacked and labeled casks of aging wine barrels, cement flooring and walls, lights spaced out along the roof, temperature controls)
A processing area for the crushing and pressing of grapes (stainless steel vats, tanks for fermenting and cold stabilization, a bottling line)
A gift store (wine purchases, artisan products, items with the winery's logo)
A restaurant (glass cases and towers displaying wines, white linens, tapas and entrees artfully arranged, tables overlooking the vineyard)
