HELPFUL TIP:

Settings should always be chosen with care. Consider the emotion you want your viewpoint character to feel and how setting choices, weather elements, and symbolism might build a specific mood in the scene, create tension and conflict, or even raise the stakes.
SIGHTS:
Large windows with impressive views
Sunlight streaming into the room at certain times of day
Décor that ranges from sleek and modern to traditional and luxurious
A wall and door made of glass
Oriental rugs, lush carpeting, or glossy wood floors
A big, expensive-looking desk flanked by one or two chairs for guests
A desktop cluttered with files, memos, papers, pens, books, and other trade-specific items
A desk chair that swivels and rocks, allowing the sitter to put their feet up
A wall clock
A real or fake potted plant in the corner
A computer, printer, and phone
Shelves along one wall holding business manuals, books, and files
Paintings on the walls
A fireplace
A sideboard boasting a decanter tray (with glasses and liquor), family pictures, mementos, artwork, and a fragrance diffuser
A small sitting area containing cushy chairs or a leather sofa and a coffee table
A desk or floor lamp
A thermostat on the wall
A private restroom
